Volunteer learning opportunities
Volunteering isn’t just a way to serve your community, it’s also a valuable learning experience. Over 350 post-secondary students choose volunteer work to gain experience in their fields of study. Many undergraduate and graduate-level programs list volunteer experience as a prerequisite for admission. And high school students and adults going through a career change often view volunteer experiences as way to learn about potential new career directions.
KGH has over 800 volunteer learning opportunities available every year, in departments such as:
• Anatomic pathology
• Cancer centre
• Critical care
• Emergency department
• Palliative care
• Pharmacy
• Physiotherapy and occupational therapy
• Spiritual care
