Contacting a patient

By email:

At Kingston General Hospital, we know how important it is to keep in close contact with family and friends. That's why we offer family, friends and visitors an email service to communicate with our patients.

We'll need the patient's name and the room number if you know it. We also require your full name and email address.

Your message will be printed and a volunteer will hand-deliver it to your loved one. If the recipient is no longer in our hospital, your message will simply be deleted. Please be aware that we do not provide a way for patients to reply to messages. Mail is delivered Monday to Friday (morning and afternoon). Mail is not delivered on weekends or statutory holidays.

Treat your email as if it were a postcard: do not include anything in the text message that you would not write on a postcard. Please don't insert pictures or send any form of attachment - they will automatically be deleted.

By telephone:

Please call the voice activated Patient Locating system at 613-549-6666 extension 2367. You will be prompted to state the legal first and last name of the patient you wish to contact. If the system can locate that patient you will be automatically transferred to the phone in their room.

If you have difficulties with the automated system please call Admitting at 613-549-6666 extension 1221 or extension 1223 for further assistance.
