Research Accounts at KGH
Research Restricted Accounts are intended to hold funds received from indirect costs associated with research agreements/contracts, unencumbered balances from completed contracts/grants/agreements, donations/gifts/endowments for the purpose of research, and funds provided by internal/external funding sources for the support of research activities.
To open up a new research restricted account, make changes to existing research restricted accounts, or blend together existing research restricted accounts at KGH please complete the Terms of Reference Form and KGH Research Restricted Account Agreement. All documentation should be forwarded to the attention of Mary Pope in the Office of Health Sciences Research at KGH (Empire 2, Room 3-234). Once all documentation has been provided and approved by the Vice President, Health Sciences Research, you will be notified of an account number to access the research restricted funds.
All Research Restricted Accounts at KGH must adhere to KGH Policy 03-021 (Research Restricted Accounts) in particular to section 2.2 of the Policy which specifically notes that “all expenditures must be in support of research activity”. As well, all activity within the account must adhere to KGH Policy 03-005 (Contract Management – Procurement of Goods and Services) and any other applicable Hospital Policies.
