Cardiac
The KGH Cardiac program serves patients in southeastern Ontario with conditions affecting their heart, delivering a broad slate of services, including:
• Percutaneous coronary interventions (stenting)
• Bypass and valve surgery
• Pacemaker
• Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation and follow up
• Cardiac resynchronization therapy device implantation and follow up
• Catheter ablation for arrhythmias
Our program hosts several general and specialized clinics including the cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs, the Cardiac Sciences Unit, an inpatient cardiac unit and the Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre at Hotel Dieu Hospital.
Our research initiatives have included research into atrial fibrillation, ICD technology, efficient care delivery models and cardiac resynchronization therapy.
