Auxiliary @ KGH

Since 1905, the Kingston General Hospital Auxiliary has made an incredible difference to the hospital and how it can deliver a continually high level of care. The impact of the volunteers’ time and fundraising efforts are substantial and exceptional.

Today, approximately 400 Auxiliary members promote and uphold the mission:

• Promote and extend the interests of KGH throughout the city and surrounding counties
• Provide services to make a positive and worthwhile contribution to the well being of the hospital's patients and staff
• Promote educational programs
• Raise funds for KGH to be allocated to special gifts determined by the administration of both the hospital and Auxiliary.

The number of programs and services, created and supported by Auxiliary members, continues to grow and all exemplify the organization’s commitment to Outstanding care, always!

Fundraising is a critical component of the KGH Auxiliary mandate.  All services and special events are geared to raise funds for hospital equipment purchases such as wheelchairs and patient transport beds. Additional funding is directed to departments to help patients with expenses when no other funding is available.

During the 2009/2010 Auxiliary Annual General Meeting in June 2010, a cheque totalling $756,886 was presented to Kingston General Hospital.

How you can help

Donations of the following items are welcome and may be dropped off at the KGH Help Desk at the main entrance off Stuart Street. Please place in a bag and mark items for Auxiliary services.

• recent magazines and paperback books 
• wigs in good condition
• newborn/infant clothing, clean and in good condition
• track suits, t-shirts and sweaters, clean & in good condition
• we accept crafts/hand knit items for our bazaar
