Employment Opportunities

Kingston General Hospital has a large, and continually growing, Security Department. Our 30+ staff are trained in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, Defensive Tactics and Handcuffing and Restraints when they begin their job. Many of our officers have attended the Ontario Fire College for training and many are yet slated to attend.

The Security Officer communicates and interacts in a professional, cooperative and caring manner with patients, visitors, staff, administration, and families and outside agencies.

Kingston General Hospital Security and Group 4 Falk have a very unique working relationship. All officers hired for KGH, are hired, initially trained, receive pay and are unionized with Group 4 Falk. However those hired for KGH, work only at this site. We are independent under Group 4 for things such as scheduling, training, counseling, etc, and are considered a purchase department within KGH.

All employees of our department need to be cleared by Group 4, licensed and receive basic training before coming to the hospital. Once trained and working at the hospital, the officer retains their relationship with their parent company through payroll, uniforming, assistance and recertifications.
