Our community

Kingston General Hospital plays a unique role in our part of the province. Due to our size and expertise, we are the south east region's leading centre for complex-acute and specialty care. Along with our main campus, we also have 24 regional affiliate and satellite sites.

As an important academic teaching hospital, we are also fully affiliated with Queen's University and our hospital is home to more than 2,000 health-care learners, from over 30 universities and colleges across Canada, and more than 180 health researchers.

In the Greater Kingston area, we are the third largest employer with over 7,000 employees, physicians, learners and volunteers all working together towards our aim of Outstanding Care, Always for our patients and their families. Together, we are a community of people dedicated to transforming the patient and family experience through innovative and collaborative approaches to care, knowledge and leadership.

As one of the country's oldest hospitals, we also have a rich history (add link) to be proud of as we celebrated our 175th anniversary in 2013. But we are also looking ahead at all times and are focused on breaking new ground as spelled out in our ongoing corporate strategy
