Our volunteers

Volunteers connect with patients, provide support for family members, offer directions and information, raise funds and complement the high quality care provided by our of professional staff.

We offer opportunities to suit a variety of interests, skill levels, ages and schedules. We have over 800 volunteers, including high school and post-secondary students, adults, and therapy dogs. All together, they contribute close to 80,000 hours in 50 programs, services, departments and units and help raise close to half-a-million dollars annually toward the purchase of equipment and patient comfort items. The numbers are almost as impressive as the people (and dogs) themselves!

You can use the menu at right to learn more about our available volunteer roles, the application process to become a volunteer and our orientation, placement and training process. If you are a current volunteer looking for information about schedules, parking, recognition, or other topics, click here.
